Construction and Operation Submarine in Poland. Technological and Organizational Challenges.

About submarines in Szczecin.

Poland intends to buy three submarines, equipped with mid-range missile maneuvers. There are still three potential bidders on the battlefield: the French DCNS, the German TKMS and the Swedish SAAB. Which will be chosen for further negotiations, it will probably be at the end of the year - he assured the International Conference organized in Safety Forum on March 27 in Szczecin Michał Jach Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee ON.

Among the more than 90 participants of the conference organized by the think tank Nobilis Media in cooperation with the Sejm were MPs members of the Sejm National Defense Commission Michał Jach and Leszek Dobrzyński, vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation Krzysztof Zaremba, deputy Sylwester Chruszcz from Infrastructure Committee, deputy minister Dariusz The Deputy Chief of the National Security Bureau whistled, the Naval Inspector Rear Admiral Mirosław Mordel, as well as Commander 8 FOW Commander Krzysztof Zdonek. There were also representatives of the Polish and western shipbuilding industries. The conference was also attended by Adam Lesiński, vice-president of the Polish Armaments Group.

A few years ago a political decision was made that Poland - for the amount of 10-12 billion zlotys - would like to have three modern conventional submarines, armed with rocket launchers. Their construction is to be engaged Polish industry. "The submarines we are going to buy must be equipped with mid-range missile maneuvers," said Michal Jach, chairman of the National Defense Committee, co-organizing the meeting.

French proposes its missiles, whereas in the case of German or Swedish it must be US approval to deliver Tomahawks. He added that the Navy, when it comes to this kind of armament, needs quick decisions. He argued that Polish shipyards were little prepared for such production, but with the help of bidders they could build new technological lines and train specialists. First, however, the Ministry of National Defense must decide on the choice of a company and then negotiate the appropriate conditions with it.
