Autonomous ships and unmanned marine and air systems in Szczecin
On December 10, another international training conference was held as part of the Szczecin Security Forum devoted to unmanned air, sea and autonomous systems under the patronage of the Sejm National Defense Committee and Ministry of Enterprise and Technology in cooperation with the 12th BSP Base in Mirosławiec. The meeting was opened by Deputy Sylwester Chruszcz, Vice-President of the Sejm Commission Infrastructure.
The aim of the conference was to promote the role and importance of unmanned systems in a dimension not only strictly military, but also in relation to a variety of tasks related to the protection of strategic objects during peacetime, asymmetrical conflict, and finally the so-called hybrid warfare and the use of unmanned technologies by the industrial, maritime and public services sectors. The topics included, among others Static presentation of technology, plans for their development and use in the civil sector as well as the Armed Forces and for the strengthening of state services.
The commander of the 12th BSP Base in Mirosławiec, Colonel Łukasz Andrzejewski, stated in his speech that already with the rapid development of unmanned technologies, it is time to appoint a special board in the General Staff, which will be dealing with their implementation in the Armed Forces. In turn, Tomasz Mosiej, a representative of Asseco, stated during the occurrence that the greatest threat to the safety of users of unmanned systems is the use of unmanned systems of Chinese production without software exchange. Acknowledged information may fall into the wrong hands.
The event was attended by representatives of the largest Polish companies, representatives of the critical infrastructure sector as well as the services responsible for its security, but also representatives of the scientific community from the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The training conference brought together over 80 specialists from all over the country, but also from Great Britain. The event was attended by representatives of producers of unmanned systems like Enamor, Asseco, UAVS Poland, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, and Thales, but also representatives of potential users from the LNG Terminal from Świnoujście, Naftoport from Gdańsk, Maritime Offices from Gdynia, Słupsk and Szczecin, case specialists security from ports in Gdynia and Szczecin and the General Directorate of Roads and Motorways, as well as the 12 Mechanized Division and the State Fire Service and Police.
