Can Poland become a "valley of drone?"
Drone will soon begin to supplant piloted aircraft or underwater equipment - Safety Forum organizers believe Szczecin 2016. The second edition of this event was devoted dronom: their purpose, the development of technology, the use of the army and other services. Polish Armaments Group wants to create a single, central hub dronowego in the country.
Safety Forum Szczecin 2016 for the first time took place this summer. Then the discussion concerned the broad sense of security, especially in Western Pomerania. But today organized a debate about the drones, styling the meeting: "Unmanned aircraft and drones sea. New technologies for the protection of strategic facilities. "
- During the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce it was obvious that these are the technologies of the future. - Since Poland did not become rather a leader in the production of heavy weapons, it has the potential of new technologies. The discussion during the Forum focused so heavily on acquiring and developing new technologies, unmanned, and then - on the use of the armed forces. So is Poland may become a "valley of drone?" Of course not on the scale of Silicon Valley - American industrial center of new technologies. - We have a company in Poland capable of producing equipment for the armed forces. But the problem is incorrect structure of acquiring these weapons for the military - said present at the Forum Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Defence Michal Jach. He explained that the problem lies in the fact that "there is agreement to increase defense spending and a good political climate, but you need a good governance structure." - In Sweden, which seems comparable to our money on defense, office for the acquisition of equipment employs 1,500 people. About Us - 400. In all of our allies operate specialized institutions responsible for the acquisition of equipment for the army, we do not. This must change - said the MP.
According Jach, the problem is the improper use of the potential of scientists and that the contracting equipment for the army, fearing accusations of corruption, will not contact with equipment manufacturers. - And if anyone is to prepare a well-order, he has to meet with people from the outside. That's all about to change, but it takes work and time. I hope that in this term we will be able to do it - said the MP.
Problems in this area also complained about prof. Marek Ilnicki, representative of the board of the Polish Group for Armament. Innovation and collaboration with science. In his opinion, our industry, which produces and is working on bezzałogowcami is too fragmented and therefore less innovative. - We want to create a single central dronowy center in Poland, which will implement one project - he said. He encouraged this idea gathered at the Forum civilians and military. - Because we have many such centers that examine construct. And where does it end? Uprising demonstrator and putting it away on the shelf. Such practices, we say no. Because fragmented market of innovative technologies makes these innovations are dying. Polish companies themselves to eliminate from the market. PGZ these technologies must be developed. It is this very moment, otherwise you will be eliminated from the arms market, where the surplus of the equipment is high. And we really can not afford - agreed Cdr rez. Artur Bilski.
The army admits, would like to use Polish, modern equipment. - But the most important for us is to perform the tasks posed to us - says Col. pil. Lukasz Andrzejewski-Popov, commander of the 12 bases of Unmanned Aircraft in Miroslawiec. This is the only unit in Poland, moreover, created recently as early this year. Now the soldiers are working on small machines, production of Israeli reconnaissance type Orbiter. - But ultimately we have to work on bezzałogowcach class MALE - emphasizes Col. Andrzejczak-Popov. It drones middle of the ceiling and the long duration of the flight. - We are already the third year students of a school in Deblin, who are preparing for these tasks. When the equipment reaches us, we will be ready to handle it. May it happened as soon as possible - adds the colonel.
The conference was attended by representatives of the defense business, politicians and the military, among others, Commander 12 Szczecin Mechanised Division and 12 Mechanized Brigade. Tomorrow, in the framework of the Forum, will be held demonstration activities drone type FlyEye, which are supplied 12 Brigade. The organizing meeting Cdr rez. Artur Bilski stresses that Szczecin is not a random place to discuss about these technologies. - Here we have the potential military. The region is stationed as many as 16% of the Polish armed forces, including the only one specializing in bezzałogowcach unit in Miroslawiec - explains.
