The next conference is behind us
The very successful conference on epidemiological and hybrid threats for Polish food producers, organized by Nobilis Media under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Parliamentary Committee of National Defense, has ended. On this symbolic day on September 17, we hosted nearly 100 people from all over Poland. Former merits, discussion and inspiring exchange of views. We also had special guests: Minister Halina Szymańska, Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland and Bartłomiej Sochański, candidate for president of Szczecin.
The conference was attended by exceptional speakers and specialists from all over the country. This is the next training conference as part of the Security Forum Szczecin, which builds a secure region and secure Poland through comprehensive training of services responsible for our security.
It is only a matter of time when ASF arrives at Western Pomerania - among others, experts discussed during the conference on epidemiological and hybrid threats to the development of the food industry, which took place in Szczecin.
As Dr Paweł Rodzoś, Director of Crisis Management of the Provincial Office in Szczecin, said - one should take into account that before the African swine fever virus it will not be possible to defend the region. But this is not scaring, just a diagnosis.
- We have been waiting for this moment when the virus will cross the Vistula. He did not know when and how. Most likely, it was an unconscious action and the transfer of some infected meat in a sandwich. But this big question mark always remains, does this mean that we can ignore hybrid activities? - said Rodzoś.
The farmers who took part in the conference asked, among other things, whether there is a chance for a recycling plant to be created in the region. Dr Maciej Prost, Director of the Provincial Veterinary Inspectorate in Szczecin, said that he should be established in the region, but when it happens, it is not known.
- It is very desirable that such a plant would be in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Some steps have been taken in this direction to make it arise, "said Prost.
It is worth noting that the nearest animal treatment plant is located near Piła.
In Poland, the African Swine Fever virus appeared in February 2014. Probably he was moved by sick wild boars that got out of Belarus.
